Each piece depicts a different Church in our beautiful U.S.A. from the Past.
Gorgeous set of iridescent carnival glass plates produced by Fenton in the 1970’s.  This collection of Christmas in America Collector Series had a total of 12 plates.  This lot includes 6 of those plates.  Fenton destroyed the molds after each year so these are the real deal.  Each plate has a molded image of a church with its story molded on the back.  I’ve included images of each story so that you may read it.   I do not know if this is Fenton's Carnival Glass color "Purple" or
"Amethyst".
#1 plate is from 1970 - "The Little Brown Church in the Vale"  Bradford, Iowa
#2 plate is from 1971 - "The Old Brick Church" Isle of Wright County, Virginia
#3 plate is from 1972 - "The Two Horned Church"  First Congressional Church Marietta, Ohio
#4 plate is from 1973 - "St. Mary's of the Mountains"  Virginia City, Nevada
#5 plate is from 1974 - "The Nation's Church Philadelphia, PA (1695)
#9 plate is from 1978 - "The Church of the Holy Trinity" Philadelphia, PA (1857)
All plates are signed on the back with the Fenton Mark.  Three plates have a Fenton sticker on them.  Included in this lot are the cards that came with the plates in 1970 and 1978. They also have only had one prior owner.
I do not see any chips or cracks.
Each plate measures 7 3/4" across.

With that in mind please remember that these items are vintage or antique which means they are 20 to 100+ years old.  They have been around a long time and usually not sitting in a cupboard untouched. Do expect some wear and tear. If you want something brand new right out of a mold then you will need to shop elsewhere.
